Invitation from the President

Dear Colleagues,

Melbourne, Australia, is one of the world’s most liveable cities and the undisputed events, sport and food capital in the country. A modern, multicultural metropolis of four million people famed for blending business and pleasure as a sophisticated art. Melbourne is the heart of the regions biotechnology industry and is home to seven of the US Fortune 500 top 20 corporations.

This vibrant business centre is an ideal venue and is opening its doors for the next Pan Pacific Congress. On behalf of the Australian Property Institute I am delighted to invite our Pacific neighbours to share this iconic city for the 26th Pan Pacific Congress in October 2012. The Organizing Committee is planning a comprehensive and informative Program but in the true Australian tradition there will be plenty of time and many opportunities to enjoy the sun, surf, beaches, the unique flora and fauna and warm, friendly people. Come and experience what Melbourne has to offer. We look forward to greeting you at the 26th Pan Pacific Congress in 2012.

Melbourne, Victoria - Named the most liveable city in the world

Visitors will find that Melbourne is an exciting city to explore. Modern architecture and design is juxtaposed with heritage buildings reflecting Australia’s unique history. But beneath the city’s impressive façade, lies the true heart and soul of the city; laneways which snake the city grid to reveal cafés and bars, fashion houses, boutiques, innovative cuisine, galleries, theatres and museums.

Within an hour’s drive of the city, visitors can enjoy some of Australia’s most spectacular coastlines, wildlife reserves, wineries, temperate rainforests, surf beaches and historic townships.

Also on offer in and around Melbourne is the opportunity to learn about Australia’s Indigenous past and present.
